About Feedwise

Feedwise is built by Sean and Ryan Nixon, who care as much about good technology as they do about good farming. Good tools that bring the two together should be in everyone’s hands — not locked behind expensive software or scattered across a dozen apps.
It started on Sean and Ruby Nixon’s sheep-dairy and beef farm at Tihoi, near Lake Taupō. Working stock day to day, we kept hitting the same challenge: the science of feeding animals is well understood, but the tools to apply it are either costly, clunky, or hard to reach when you’re standing in the paddock. Sustainable, profitable farming depends on getting feed right — so why is it so hard to check?
Feedwise is our answer. We are bringing together a set of free, modern tools that take published ruminant nutrition science and make it usable in the shed, at the yards and in the paddock — feed analysis, pasture cover, animal health and a soil/nutrient report, all live today. The feed tool works out whether your stock can actually hit their target on the feed you have — the limiting factor, the supplements to add, and the cost — and gives you a clean report you can act on or hand to a client. It covers sheep, cattle, deer and goats.
It comes down to outcomes. Better feeding means healthier stock, less waste, and a lighter footprint. Better tools put that within reach of anyone working with stock — whether you farm it yourself or advise those who do — so the call is made with confidence, not guesswork.
Everything here is decision support, grounded in established feeding standards. It sharpens the decision — it does not replace professional judgement and good stockmanship.
