This is what the stack holds against what the mob eats — it makes no allowance for wastage at the face or in the paddock, which is real and can be substantial.
How it works
Dry matter on hand = bales × bale weight × dry matter %, or tonnes as fed × dry matter %. Daily demand = head × kilograms of dry matter each. Days = one divided by the other. It asks what your stock eat rather than assuming it, because an assumed intake is a model, not a conversion — and the requirement tables already publish that figure with its working.
